In general, if you have a cheap removal spell in hand, its fine to give it the two +1/+1 counters
I would rather play it with better red and green creatures since none of the abilities require me to control werewolves
It's a far more interesting dice effect, with each dice causing a crazy wacky effect

Life // Death Life / Death is basically a 2-mana Reanimate, which is, of course, so much worse than the 1-mana spell
You get to draw X cards when you cast it, but you also get to gain X life
