You have some synergies with lifegain and +1/+1 counters, and in some decks, youll be able to protect and buff your whole army from the lifegain synergies alone

Let's look at each reason in turn: Vigilance - Since you want to swing to gain the Monarch and block to keep, enter vigilance letting you do both and ideally on an evasive dork like Serra Angel

The additional benefit of Cunning Wish is that it can be a oddly expensive counter and search up a Flusterstorm, Force of Will, or Spell Pierce, while also attacking graveyards with Surgical Extraction or fetch lands with Stifle, for just one additional mana

Any deck that floods the board with creatures can cash in this green sorcery for a couple cards, but gaining 8 life while you do it adds a lot of value here
